First You Need To Understand The Formula- You will get as many retweets as another person has gotten if you tweet the exact same thing.
The person may have more followers than you, in that case you need to divide his amount of followers by the amount of retweets he got on his tweet and you will get the followers required to get 1 retweet!

 Suppose The followers required is 200 and you have 400 then that means you get 2 retweets!
This formula may not work accurately if the person's tweet that you are taking has huge amount of followers because maybe your followers would have read it but that does not mean that you dont try it altogether because it may work, it may not.

Use social networking sites to get traffic to your twitter page. Spread the word on youtube, facebook, myspace and hispace! Once you have 100+ followers then everything starts becoming easier.

A good trick- Try to have small but funny conversations with other people as some of their followers may follow you once the person mentions you.
